2025 Green Season: Special Program #1 – Mindfulness Meditation

As the first of a series of special events for the 2025 Green Season, Mindfulness Meditation will take place over two days and one night, from Saturday, July 5 to Sunday, July 6.

Mindfulness meditation is a type of meditation based on Buddhist principles that has quietly gained a loyal following in recent years, particularly in the West, as a way to address stress and improve mental well-being. By focusing on the breath and physical sensations, it fosters a sense of inner stillness, free from the distractions of thoughts and emotions.

This retreat will feature Masao Yoshida, President of the Mindfulness Meditation Association of Japan, as a guest instructor. Surrounded by the pristine wilderness of the Northern Alps, participants will have the opportunity to sharpen their five senses through a series of guided mindfulness practices.

Enjoy the sound of the wind, the rustling of the trees, and the fresh scent of clean alpine air as you reset your mind and body in a deeply relaxing and luxurious experience.

*Please note: This program will be conducted in Japanese.

Our second special program for the 2025 Green Season will be “Yoga & Glamping RETREAT -reset & renew–,” a retreat that has been held annually since 2023 and is scheduled for Saturday, September 27 to Sunday, September 28. Details will be announced as soon as they are finalized.

Meet at the Shinkansen ticket gate of JR Nagano Station
→ Pick-up and drop-off at the venue by private car

Meditation Experience (60 min.)
Location: In front of Kamoshika Lounge (Woodchip Plaza)

 

  • Opening & Preparation for Meditation (10 minutes)
    Explanation of mindfulness principles and posture
  • Moving Meditation (25 minutes)
    • Mindfulness Yoga: Align the body and mind to experience calm and presence

    • Body Scan: Deepen relaxation by becoming aware of each part of the body

  • Five Senses Meditation (25 minutes)
    • Sound Meditation: Listen to the sounds of nature and focus on their nuances
    • Tactile and Visual Meditation: Observe natural sights and textures to engage the five senses

(In case of rain or low temperatures, the program will be held indoors.)

17:00~

 

Full-course dinner with rare Nagano wine pairing
(The dinner begins with an aperitif while enjoying a spectacular view of the Northern Alps.)

Sunrise Meditation (60 min.)
Location: Observation Deck

 

  • Meditation of the Senses (10 minutes)
    • Sound Meditation: Find inner peace while listening to the sounds of nature.
    • Tactile and Visual Meditation: Stay present as you tune into the warmth of nature and the gentle breeze that moves through the air.
  • Moving Meditation (20 minutes)
    • Mindfulness Yoga: Gentle movements to calm the mind
    • Body Scan: Promote relaxation by focusing on bodily sensations
    • Walking Meditation: Feel the beauty of the surroundings through all five senses
  • Breath Meditation (20 minutes)
    Deepen inner stillness and cultivate peace through mindful breathing
  • Reflection & Q&A (10 minutes)
    Share insights with fellow participants and set intentions for the day

PROFILE OF INSTRUCTOR

MASAO YOSHIDA

After graduating from university, Masao Yoshida studied meditation, yoga, and psychology to explore the ideal state of mind and body. He has traveled to over 35 countries, including India, where he practiced meditation and yoga while immersing himself in different cultures.
He is the author of “How to Purify Yourself in 10 Minutes a Day: An Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation” (over 150,000 copies sold) and is also a well-received lecturer on mindfulness, known for engaging talks that resonate with both public and corporate audiences.

    TARGET AUDIENCE

    Open to all adults, from beginners to experienced participants.
    Children under 10 years old are not accepted at this facility.

    100,000 yen per person (tax included)
